The Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network cordially invites you to this year’s Survivors of Suicide Loss Conference on November 7 in Nashville. This annual event offers an opportunity to honor our lost loved ones, connect with fellow survivors, and discover strategies and solutions that can help us along our recovery journey.
This event will feature the dedication of this year’s “Love Never Dies” Memorial Quilt, along with presentations and panel discussions by other survivors of suicide loss, explaining how they found their way forward while still honoring their loved one’s memory. A complimentary breakfast and a sponsored luncheon are also scheduled. A formal agenda will be available closer to the event.
Guests will have the opportunity to bring framed photos of their loved ones, along with short written narratives about them, to display at the event.
Check-in and walk-in registration begin at 8:30 AM. Upon request, we can provide a list of hotels close to the venue for overnight stays the night before our event.
In addition to our event that morning, TSPN will welcome visitors to the International Suicide Memorial Wall (located at 1321 Murfreesboro Pike, Suite 155 in Nashville) from 2-4 PM. Karyl Chastain Brazier, co-founder of the Wall project, will be available to greet visitors. If you plan to visit the Wall on that date, we ask that you RSVP by Tuesday, November 3, with an email to venlow@tspn.org.
Let us know if you have any questions ahead of our event. We look forward to helping you gather strength to help ourselves and others.
This event will be held from 9 AM-1 PM at the Ed Jones Auditorium within the Ellington Agricultural Complex in Nashville, located at 416 Hogan Road. As you enter the complex's gates, signage along the road will guide you towards the auditorium. Free parking is available in the lot surrounding the building.
Check-in and walk-in registration begins at 8:30 AM, with coffee available and plans for a continental breakfast.
Out-of-towners may be interested in the following hotels not far from the venue. All these hotels are in nearby Brentwood unless otherwise noted:
Our event will feature a catered lunch; we will announce the catering company and lunch sponsors as they are confirmed.
As is standard, we will dedicate this year’s “Love Never Dies” quilt during the event. This year’s quilt honors thirteen loved ones, with panels contributed by people across Tennessee. If you submitted a quilt square, you will receive a framed copy at the event. If you cannot attend, we will mail the framed panel to the address you provided Karyl Chastain Brazier earlier.
Copies of The After Journey: A Survivor's Guide After the Death of a Loved One By Suicide by Harry and Jenny Bruell will be available. This book has proved immensely popular with local suicide grief support groups.
Our event includes an art activity segment where you may personalize clear acrylic fillable ornaments as a memento of your healing journey or as a tribute to your loved one. You may bring small trinkets, charms, photos, etc., to individualize your ornament.
In addition to our event on Saturday, TSPN will receive visitors to the International Suicide Memorial Wall (located at 1321 Murfreesboro Pike, Suite 155 in Nashville) from 2-4 PM after the event. Karyl Chastain Brazier, co-founder of the Wall project, will be available to greet visitors. If you plan to visit the Wall on that date, we ask that you RSVP before Tuesday, November 3, with an email to venlow@tspn.org. (Note that all the hotels listed above are about eight miles from the TSPN office, so consider this point when planning your visit.) Parking is available in the front and side lots.
If you have any questions or issues with registration, please contact Vladimir Enlow at venlow@tspn.org.
